Gombe Central Constituents Demand Senatorial Seat Rotation

Constituents in Gombe Central are urging for the rotation of the senatorial seat among local government areas ahead of the 2027 general elections. During a press briefing, Emmanuel Usman, speaking on behalf of the Gombe Central Constituents Association, emphasized the need for balanced political representation within the senatorial district, which includes Akko and Yamaltu Deba local government areas.

Usman highlighted that the current senator, Danjuma Goje, an indigene of Akko, has held the seat for 16 years, creating an imbalance in representation. The constituents are advocating for the seat to be returned to Yamaltu Deba to ensure equitable political representation.

Usman noted that the people, particularly from the Tera community, feel marginalized and are eager to produce the next senator from their area.
