NCAA Fines Qatar Airways N5m for Consumer-Protection Breaches

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has imposed a N5 million fine on Qatar Airways for violating consumer protection regulations, specifically related to mistreatment of Nigerian passengers. The sanction comes after complaints of poor treatment by foreign airlines like Royal Air Maroc and Kenya Airways.

Michael Achimugu, the Director of Public Affairs at NCAA, emphasized the agency's commitment to upholding aviation laws and protecting passenger rights. Qatar Airways faces stringent sanctions if it fails to address the infractions.

The airline is yet to respond publicly to the penalty.
