Wike Challenges ADC Over Eagle Square Venue Claims

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, addressed allegations from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) regarding their access to Eagle Square for their national convention scheduled for April 14. Wike challenged the ADC to prove their claims by providing evidence of a formal application, stating that no such request had been submitted to the relevant authorities.

He described the ADC's allegations as unfounded attempts to gain public sympathy, emphasizing that the venue remains open for organizations that comply with established procedures. Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC's National Publicity Secretary, accused the authorities of frustrating their preparations by withholding approval for the venue.

Wike clarified that the ADC's claims were incorrect and highlighted that other parties, such as the People's Democratic Party, had successfully followed due process to secure venue access. He also addressed unrelated reports about structural issues at the Eagle Square, confirming that no casualties occurred and that repair work was ongoing.
