Abuja Event Centre Denies Wike's License Threat Claims

The Rainbow Event Centre in Abuja has refuted allegations that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, threatened to revoke its operating license due to the hosting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) national convention on April 14. During a press conference on Thursday, Yusuf, a manager at the event center, clarified that they had not received any threats from the FCT Minister or any government officials.

This clarification was deemed necessary following inquiries from clients about the venue's status. Despite claims from ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi that the venue faced pressure to cancel its booking, the event center confirmed that it remains open for business and that all bookings are valid.

The controversy began with the ADC leadership, which accused the venue of being pressured to withdraw its services, but the event center's management has denied these allegations, stating that they are fulfilling their contractual obligations.
