Wike Threatens Venue License for ADC National Convention

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by David Mark, is facing challenges regarding its national convention scheduled for Tuesday in Abuja. Bolaji Abdullahi, the spokesperson for the ADC faction, alleged that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), threatened to revoke the license of the Rainbow Event Center, the chosen venue, due to external pressures.

Abdullahi stated that the venue owner claimed Wike warned that the license would be revoked if the ADC proceeded with their plans. Despite these allegations, Abdullahi insisted that the ADC would continue with the convention as planned, noting that the party had already fulfilled its financial obligations under the formal agreement with the venue.

Wike, however, dismissed the claims and denied ADC access to the Eagle Square, asserting that the ADC's convention would not be undermined.
