Ben Wazabanga Convicted of Murdering Ayowal Aladejana

Ben Wazabanga, a 23-year-old man, was convicted of the murder of 26-year-old Ayowal Aladejana by a jury at Southwark Crown Court on June 11. The incident occurred on August 2, 2025, in New Cross, London, following a financial dispute between the two former business associates.

Wazabanga traveled approximately 50 miles from Bedford to confront Aladejana, armed with a knife, and fatally stabbed him during the altercation. The Metropolitan Police's investigation utilized extensive CCTV footage, phone analysis, and vehicle tracking to establish a timeline of events leading to Aladejana's death.

Wazabanga was arrested near Waterloo Bridge while allegedly attempting to flee the scene. The police described the murder as a calculated and brutal attack.

Wazabanga's sentencing is scheduled for July 13 at Southwark Crown Court, with the lead investigator, Chief Inspector Luci Card, expressing hope that the conviction would provide some comfort to Aladejana's family.
