Nwabueze Shares Appointment Letter Amid Fake Agency Claims

George Nwabueze, the National Coordinator of the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, has responded to allegations that his office is a fraudulent Federal Government agency by sharing an appointment letter purportedly issued by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF). This letter, dated October 3, 2025, and signed by Nadungu Gagare, a permanent secretary, confirms Nwabueze's appointment as National Coordinator and Executive Director of the Made in Nigeria Project Office.

The appointment is for a five-year term starting from July 2025. Following the discovery of the alleged fake agency by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered Nwabueze's immediate arrest and the suspension of three permanent secretaries linked to the agency.

The ICPC Chairman, Musa Aliyu, stated that the investigation was part of a broader inquiry into the activities of the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council and other government procedural lapses.
