ICPC Declares National Brands Project Office Fake Agency

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has declared the National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office a fake government agency operating within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF). This declaration, made on August 21, was part of an investigation into the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

ICPC Chairman Musa Aliyu stated that George Nwabueze is the promoter of the project office. Following this, President Bola Tinubu ordered the immediate arrest of Nwabueze and the suspension of three permanent secretaries: M.S.

Danjuma, Nandungu Gagare, and Richard Pheelangwa. However, officials within the OSGF have disputed the ICPC's claims, asserting that the project office is legitimate and was mischaracterized due to internal disagreements.

Nwabueze has also rejected the allegations of operating a fake agency, maintaining that the project office is an approved public initiative.
