Nwabueze Defends Made in Nigeria Office Against ICPC Claims

George Nwabueze, the National Coordinator and Executive Director of the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, has refuted allegations from the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) that he operates a "fake agency." Nwabueze stated that his office, which has been under the supervision of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) for 16 years, was unjustly labeled as fraudulent. He emphasized that the Made in Nigeria Special Project Office has been functioning since July 16, 2010.

In response to the ICPC's claims, Nwabueze shared his appointment letter, dated October 3, 2025, signed by Nadungu Gagare, the Permanent Secretary of the Political and Economic Affairs Office. The letter confirmed his role and responsibilities, which include overseeing programs and initiatives to promote indigenous products.

His appointment is for a five-year term beginning in July 2025, with the possibility of renewal.
