Cordros Hosts 5th Financial Literacy Debate in Abuja

Cordros Asset Management conducted its 5th Financial Literacy Debate in Abuja on Thursday, marking a significant event aimed at promoting financial literacy among secondary school students in the Federal Capital Territory. The debate, which focused on the topic of fixed income versus equities for young investors, featured intense intellectual competition among top-tier institutions.

The grand champion of the debate received a cash prize of ₦200,000, which is intended to seed capital for future investments. Adegbolahan Aina, the Managing Director of Cordros Asset Management, emphasized the importance of early financial education, noting that many Nigerians lack knowledge about investment and financial planning.

He advocated for equity investments as a means to combat inflation, highlighting that the stock market has yielded returns of 50-100% in recent years. Adenik Ogunyal and Kofoworola Oyewole also stressed the need for a balanced financial portfolio, encouraging Nigerians to avoid keeping funds idle and to consider various investment options.
