Jesse Lingard Joins Corinthians After FC Seoul Exit

Jesse Lingard has officially signed with Brazilian club Corinthians as a free agent following his departure from FC Seoul. The agreement is for a contract that runs until the end of 2023, with an option to extend until the end of 2027, contingent on performance targets being met.

Lingard's arrival continues a long-standing tradition of significant signings for Corinthians, which has previously included icons such as Rivaldo, Carlos Tevez, and Ronaldo Nazário. The formal unveiling of Lingard is anticipated to take place at the club's headquarters in São Paulo, where the club's rich history and fan base are celebrated.

Lingard, who is 33 years old, expressed enthusiasm about joining Corinthians, having quickly settled on the move after discussions with former teammate Memphis Depay, who had joined the club earlier. Lingard will wear the number 77 shirt, symbolizing the club's historical significance and the end of a long trophy drought that lasted until 1977.
