Corps Member Found Lifeless in Lodge as Police Begin Investigation

The police in Dambam Local Government Area have launched an investigation into the death of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Nwokedi Chukwuebuka, who was found lifeless in his lodge. The deceased was discovered by a colleague in the early hours of Sunday in the accommodation provided by the NYSC.

The Corps Liaison Officer (CLO) reported the incident to the police, who are currently working to determine the exact cause of death. In a separate incident, another NYSC member, Ushie Rita Uguamaye, had her Certificate of National Service withheld after criticizing the President in a viral video earlier this year.

The NYSC management has denied the allegations, stating that Uguamaye's certificate was withheld for disciplinary reasons. This incident has sparked a debate on freedom of expression and the role of the NYSC in regulating its members.
