FG’s Injustice against NYSC Member, Uguamaye

Lagos youth corps member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, known as Raye, criticized the government, particularly President Bola Tinubu, for alleged injustice. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) reportedly withheld her discharge certificate in retaliation for her criticism.

Earlier, Uguamaye gained attention for a TikTok video criticizing the administration's handling of economic issues. She claimed to have received threats from NYSC officials to delete the video, expressing concerns for her safety.

Despite attending her scheduled clearance in April, Uguamaye alleged that the Local Government Inspector (LGI) refused to clear her and withheld her certificate. NYSC denied the allegations of retaliation, stating that the certificate was withheld due to missing the April clearance.

This incident has sparked discussions about freedom of speech in Nigeria, with many criticizing the government's intolerance towards dissent.
