NYSC DG: Corps Members Must Follow Social Media Laws

Olakunle Nafiu, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), announced that corps members are required to comply with Nigeria's social media laws and remain subject to constitutional provisions regulating online conduct. During an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Abuja, Nafiu highlighted that corps members, as citizens, are fully accountable under the law for their online activities.

He noted that allegations of cyberbullying against corps members would be investigated by relevant law enforcement agencies, and the NYSC is not mandated to provide legal representation for corps members involved in criminal or civil matters arising from social media activities. Nafiu also mentioned that the NYSC is intensifying its sensitization campaigns to educate corps members on responsible social media use.

He encouraged content creation among corps members while adhering to legal standards. Additionally, he commended First Lady Sen.
