RMAFC Chairman Addresses Corruption Beyond Bribery

Dr. Mohammed Shehu, the Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), addressed public officers at a workshop in Kaduna from September 14 to 18, 2026, organized by the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) in collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission. He warned that corruption encompasses more than just bribery and fund diversion, including abuse of office, conflict of interest, favouritism, and manipulation of official processes.

Shehu stressed the need for integrity in public service and called for a collective responsibility in the fight against corruption, urging that it should not be solely the duty of ACTU or the ICPC. He encouraged participants to ensure that their actions adhere to legality, accountability, fairness, and transparency to earn public trust.

Ismail Agaka, representing Shehu, and Idris Musa, ACTU Chairman, also emphasized the importance of embedding integrity and accountability in the commission's operations.
