COSEYL Disowns Reform Caucus, Denies Apology to Deputy Speaker

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has publicly distanced itself from a group claiming to be a Reform Caucus within the organization. In a statement signed by President General Comrade Goodluck Ibem and Public Secretary Comrade Okei Nwaoru, COSEYL asserted that there is no recognized structure known as the Reform Caucus.

They emphasized that the press conference allegedly held by individuals including Ogbu Emmanuel, Somto Nwokoy, and Nellobi Bright was unauthorized and lacked the mandate to represent COSEYL. The group described the actions of these individuals as poorly orchestrated and characterized them as "strangers" to the organization.

COSEYL further alleged that this move was an attempt by the Deputy Speaker to associate with non-members to discredit the group. They have submitted a petition to the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee and called for a thorough investigation by relevant institutions, including the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), urging the public and media to disregard unauthorized statements.
