Trial Adjourned for Anthony Joshua's Driver in Fatal Crash

The magistrate court in Sagamu, Ogun State, has adjourned the trial of Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayod, the long-time driver of former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua, until March 13. Kayod appeared in court for the second time following a fatal road accident that occurred on December 29 near the Makun area of Sagamu.

He faces several serious charges, including causing death, dangerous driving, reckless driving resulting in bodily harm, negligent destruction of property, and driving without due care and attention. Additionally, he is accused of operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license.

During the hearing, Kayod did not enter a plea, and the prosecutor requested additional time to prepare evidence. Kayod was previously granted bail and is recovering at home from injuries sustained in the accident.

Reports indicate that Joshua was also injured during the incident. Furthermore, Kayod had lost employment with a British businessman due to a previous driving-related incident in October 2024.
