PDP Factions Clash Over Abuja Secretariat Control

The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Tanimu Turaki responded to the reopening of the party's secretariat in Abuja by the faction aligned with Nyesom Wike. This development follows a court ruling on March 9, which favored Wike's faction, declaring the previous faction's claims invalid. The Wike-aligned faction announced on November 16 that the Nigeria Police Force had unsealed the Wadata Plaza, the national office of the PDP. In a statement, the Turaki-led faction expressed concerns over the police's actions, accusing them of partisan interference and breaching due process. They acknowledged the police's professionalism but warned against any disruption at the secretariat. Ememobong, a spokesperson for the Turaki faction, maintained that their faction remains peaceful despite the ongoing tensions and urged party members not to lose hope. The situation reflects the ongoing internal crisis within the PDP, with both factions pursuing legal avenues to assert their claims.
