Court Adjourns Inquest into Adichie’s Son’s Death

The Lagos State court has scheduled a hearing for May 5 regarding the inquest into the death of Master Nkanu Adichi, son of acclaimed writer Chimamanda Adichie. The inquest, presided over by Magistrate Atinuk Adetunji at the JIC Taylor Courthouse in Igbosere, aims to investigate the circumstances surrounding the child's death.

Master Nkanu was reportedly admitted to Euracar Hospital on January 6, 2026, and transferred to Atlantic Paediatric Hospital on January 7 for urgent medical attention. Investigations by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria have established a prima facie case of medical negligence against three doctors, leading to their interim suspension.
