Euracare Hospital Alleges Confidentiality Breach in Probe

Euracare Hospital has raised concerns regarding a breach of confidentiality in the investigation into the death of 21-month-old Eseg Nkanu Adichie, the son of acclaimed Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The child received care at Atlantic Hospital and underwent a medical procedure at Euracare, a multi-specialist facility in Lagos, on January 7, 2026.

Following the incident, two medical and dental practitioners were suspended pending an investigation by a panel. Euracare stated that the matter is being handled in accordance with patient confidentiality protocols and that any disclosures outside appropriate channels are unacceptable.

The hospital expressed its commitment to transparency and a thorough internal review, ensuring that all parties involved are entitled to a rigorous and impartial process. Dr.
