Judgment Date Set for Lekki Sound Engineer Murder Case

The Lagos State High Court, under the authority of Justice Ibironk Harrison, has set June 22, 2026, for the judgment in the murder case of sound engineer David Imoh. Imoh was reportedly lynched and burned to death on May 12, 2022, at Nitel Junction, Admiralty Lekki Phase 1, following a dispute over a N100 transport fare balance.

Six commercial motorcyclists, including Dahiru Ayuba, were arraigned on October 20, 2022, on six counts of conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and inflicting grievous harm, as preferred by the Lagos State Government. During the trial, the defense counsel for each defendant presented final written addresses, arguing for their clients' acquittal based on insufficient evidence.

The prosecution, represented by Dr. Bajid Martin, urged the court to convict the defendants, asserting that evidence established their involvement in the mob attack.

The six defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
