Court Frees Unruly Ibom Air Passenger as Police Withdraw Charges

The Ikeja Magistrates Court has freed Miss Comfort Emmason, an Ibom Air passenger accused of unruly behavior and assault, as the police withdrew the charges against her. The incident occurred on a flight from Uyo to Lagos on Sunday.

Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo disclosed that after consultations with aviation stakeholders and an expression of remorse from Emmason, the charges were dropped. Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, known as Kwam 1, was also involved in a similar incident on Valujet Flight.

The court discharged Emmason after the police withdrew the charges, as she was unable to meet the bail conditions. Keyamo emphasized the importance of airport security protocols and the need for proper conduct within the aviation space.

The government and airline operators have agreed to lift the flight ban on Kwam 1 and implement proper security measures going forward.
