Breaking: 'Airlines Considering Naming Ibom Air Passenger Ambassador,' FG Speaks

The Minister of Aviation announced that airlines are considering naming a passenger, Comfort Emmanson, who was accused of assaulting Ibom Air staff, as an ambassador for good passenger conduct. Emmanson had been involved in a separate controversy with ValueJet, where she was asked to withdraw her complaint.

She had been forcefully removed from an aircraft at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos after allegedly assaulting an airport official. The incident led to the suspension of two pilots and a flying ban imposed by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria on popular musician Kwam 1, who had tried to prevent the aircraft from taking off.

The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) had initially imposed a lifetime ban on Emmanson, but the federal government later overturned it. The AON is now exploring the possibility of using Emmanson as an ambassador for good passenger conduct.

The minister clarified that it is a common practice worldwide for repentant offenders to preach publicly about their exact conduct and how they have repented.
