Court to Hear Nafiu Bala's Suit Against David Mark

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite, is set to hear the suit filed by Hon. Nafiu Bala against David Mark and others on Friday.

The suit, filed on May 5, 2025, seeks to restrain Mark, the embattled national chairman of the ADC, and others from acting as leaders of the party. This follows the dismissal of an interlocutory appeal by Senator David Mark at the Supreme Court of Nigeria on April 30, 2026.

The case was adjourned indefinitely on April 14, 2026, at the request of Gomb Luka Haruna, the plaintiff's counsel, while awaiting the Supreme Court's judgment on the appeal. The suit also involves other defendants, including Rauf Aregbesola and Ralph Nwosu, and addresses alleged breaches of the party's constitution and the Electoral Act.
