Lagos Court Sentences 279 Miscreants to Imprisonment

The Lagos State Miscellaneous Court has sentenced 279 individuals, comprising 274 males and five females, to various terms of imprisonment for offenses including theft and drug-related activities. These convictions resulted from a raid conducted by the Lagos State Safety Agency (LSSA) in areas known for criminal activities, particularly in the Lekki region.

The operation aimed to enhance safety for residents by targeting hoodlums and miscreants who pose risks to the public. Prince Ifalade Oyekan, the General Manager of the Lagos State Safety Agency, stated that the convicted individuals operated in various locations, including bridges, markets, and parks, without any known place of abode.

He emphasized that the agency would collaborate with police and security agencies to eliminate such nuisances in the state. Oyekan expressed a commitment to ensuring that Lagosians can live without fear of attacks, particularly in areas notorious for criminal activities.
