Lagos Police Arrest 118 Suspected Criminals in Two Weeks

The Lagos State Police Command reported a successful crackdown on criminal activities, resulting in the arrest of 118 suspected criminals over two weeks. During a press briefing at the command headquarters in Ikeja, Commissioner of Police Tijani Olayiwola Fatai highlighted the commitment to protecting lives and property.

The arrests, which occurred from April 27, included 58 suspects linked to traffic robbery and phone snatching in Lekki. Additionally, two suspects, Elijah Emmanuel and Toni Ekwan Oghanetega, were arrested for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of a 17-year-old victim.

The police also dismantled a telecom vandal syndicate, arresting three suspects and recovering stolen power assets. Anti-cultism operations led to multiple arrests across various locations, including Iwaya and Lagos Island.

The police emphasized the ongoing investigation and urged public support in providing credible information to combat crime in the state.
