FCDA Staff Kingsley Eselebor Sentenced for Land Fraud

Kingsley Eselebor, an employee of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), was sentenced to 25 years in prison by the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja for land fraud and document forgery. Justice A.O.

Musa delivered the verdict on October 28, 2026, after Eselebor was found guilty on all five counts brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The court imposed a seven-year sentence for counts one, two, and three, and two years for counts four and five, with all sentences running concurrently and no option for a fine.

Eselebor, who worked in the FCDA’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning, defrauded his neighbor, Moses Osinachi, by selling two plots of land in the Kubwa District of Abuja using forged documents. The fraud was uncovered when Osinachi attempted to take possession of the land and found that Eselebor had no valid titles.

EFCC prosecution counsel Joshua Saidi stated that the conviction serves as a warning against land racketeering and the misuse of public office for fraudulent activities.
