Court Orders Final Forfeiture of N3.4 Billion Linked to NNPC

On March 31, 2026, the Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice J.O. Abdulmalik, ordered the final forfeiture of N3.444 billion and three properties associated with Salihu Nuhu Jamari, the former Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

This decision followed an interim forfeiture order granted earlier on February 25, 2026, which allowed interested parties to show cause against the permanent forfeiture of the assets to the Federal Government. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had received a petition regarding various public funds linked to NNPC.

The identified properties include an incomplete six-bedroom semi-detached duplex in Asokoro, a two-bedroom flat in Ikoyi, and a restaurant in Lokogoma. The EFCC's counsel, Ekel Iheanacho SAN, filed a motion on March 17, 2026, leading to the court's review and subsequent approval of the final forfeiture order.

This case is part of broader investigations into fraud involving NNPC, with a total recovery of N3.9 billion reported earlier.
