Court Orders Final Forfeiture of N8.97bn from Aisha Achimugu

On Thursday, a Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Jude Onwugbuzi, ordered the final forfeiture of assets valued at N8.97 billion linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought the motion for forfeiture.

The court ruled for the permanent forfeiture of these assets to the Federal Government, which includes jewelry worth N4.645 billion and 11 exotic cars valued at N4.293 billion. Additionally, cash amounting to N50,000 and N30 million was also included in the forfeiture order.

The combined value of the jewelry and luxury vehicles is estimated to be nearly N9 billion, marking a significant asset forfeiture order involving a single individual in recent years.
