Court Denies Nnamdi Kanu's Transfer Request, Orders Motion on Notice

The Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed Nnamdi Kanu's request to be transferred from Sokoto prison, ordering a motion on notice instead. Kanu's legal team had sought his move to a facility nearer to the FCT, arguing that the transfer was necessary.

Justice James Omotosho denied the ex parte application, emphasizing the need for proper representation and following standard procedures. Kanu's younger brother, Emmanuel Kanu, represented him but faced challenges due to not being a lawyer.

The court directed Kanu to refile the application for a motion on notice, giving relevant authorities a chance to respond before a decision on the transfer.
