Four Police Officers Remanded for Killing Traders in Lagos

A magistrate court in Lagos has ordered the remand of four police officers—Manu Bala (41), Jibrin Samaila (47), Ibrahim Garuba (29), and Ibrahim Kashimu (26)—in Kirikiri Custodial Centre pending legal advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP). The officers are accused of conspiring to kill traders at the Owode Onirin International Spare Parts Market on August 27, 2025, using an AK-47 rifle.

The prosecution, led by Mr. O.W.

Ologun, filed a seven-count charge against the officers, including conspiracy to commit murder and other related offenses, which contravene sections 223 and 233 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015. The court granted the request for remand to allow the DPP to determine if there is a prima facie case against the defendants.
