Four Police Officers Dismissed Over Traders' Killings

Four police officers have been dismissed by Olohundar Jimoh, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, due to their alleged involvement in the killing of seven traders in the Owod Onirin area. Jimoh confirmed this during a press briefing in Ikeja on Thursday, stating that the investigation into the incident, which occurred in August 2025 during a clash between traders and land grabbers, is nearly complete, with 98 percent of the investigation finalized.

He emphasized the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to uphold justice and maintain law and order, assuring the public that no one would be intimidated and that all suspects would be prosecuted in court. Jimoh also highlighted the importance of transparency in the investigation, referencing ballistic autopsy reports that would guide the prosecution.

He urged residents and traders to remain vigilant and assured them of the police's commitment to their safety and justice.
