Five Police Officers Remanded Over Delta Musician's Death

Five police officers, including ASP Usman Nuhu, ASP Onoloko Dauroupamo, ASP Okoh Kelechi, Inspector Goodluck Kingslei, and Inspector Omonigho Ahweyevu, have been remanded in custody following the death of 28-year-old Delta State musician Oghenemin Ogidi, also known as OG Millan. They were arraigned at the High Court in Asaba under case file suit no THC/ASB/CR/66C/2026, presided over by Justice Marshal Onom Umukoro.

The court has adjourned the case until June 15, 2026, pending further legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu described the officers' appearance in court as a positive step towards justice.

However, concerns were raised about the deceased's family not being adequately informed about the case's developments. The family expressed frustration over the lack of communication from authorities and requested regular updates regarding the investigation into Ogidi's death, which occurred on April 26, 2026, after an incident involving the interception of a delivery package containing firearms.
