Police Officers Remanded Over Delta Musician's Death

Five police officers have been remanded in custody in connection with the death of 28-year-old Delta State musician Oghenemin Ogidi, also known as OG Millan. The officers, including ASP Usman Nuhu, ASP Onoloko Dauroupamo, ASP Okoh Kelechi, Inspector Goodluck Kingslei, and Inspector Omonigho Ahweyevu, were arraigned at the High Court in Asaba under case file suit no THC/ASB/CR/66C/2026, presided over by Justice Marshal Onom Umukoro.

The court ordered their remand at Ogwashi Uku Correctional Centre pending further proceedings, which are scheduled for June 15, 2026. The arraignment followed a request for legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu described the officers' appearance in court as a positive step toward justice. However, concerns were raised regarding the lack of communication with the deceased's family about the case's developments.

The family expressed frustration over being inadequately informed and urged the Delta State Ministry of Justice to ensure transparency and regular updates.
