Court Reserves Judgment on Pantami's Candidacy Challenge

The court, presided over by Justice Amina Aliyu, has reserved judgment in a suit challenging Isa Pantami's candidacy for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary. Barrister S.

M. Yusuf, representing the PDP, informed the court about a motion to strike the suit, arguing it was incompetent under Section 115 of the Evidence Act.

Barrister Tund Falola, representing Pantami, supported the motion with a six-paragraph affidavit from Shuaibu Usman Gwani, urging the court to dismiss the original summons for lack of merit. Falola maintained that documents presented show Pantami resigned from the Progress Congress (APC) on May 19, 2026.

In response, counsel for the plaintiff, Eko Ejembi Eko, filed a counter-affidavit and insisted that the suit deserved judicial determination. The court heard arguments from both parties before reserving judgment, with a date for the judgment to be communicated to the parties involved.
