Court Delays Ruling on Blessing CEO's Bail Application

The Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, presided over by Justice Dipeolu, has adjourned the ruling on Blessing Okoro Nkiruka's bail application until June 9, 2026. Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, is standing trial for allegedly defrauding a company of ₦36 million.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has charged her with two counts of obtaining money under false pretenses and stealing. During the proceedings, her counsel, P.

Nwafuru, requested bail for her, while the prosecuting counsel, S. Suleiman, opposed the application, citing a 28-paragraph counter affidavit.

The EFCC's investigator, Bufa Regina Okangb, testified about the agency's investigation, which included bank verifications and inquiries into property ownership linked to the case. The court admitted several documents into evidence despite objections from the defense regarding the absence of legal representation during the statement's recording.

The trial is set to continue on June 22, 2026.
