Nigerian Court Dismisses Ex-Binance Chief's Lawsuit Over Detention

The Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected Tigran Gambaryan's compensation suit against the NSA and EFCC, ruling that his detention was lawful. Gambaryan, an American citizen and former head of financial crime compliance at Binance, alleged emotional distress from his detention in Nigeria.

The court emphasized that fundamental rights are not absolute and can be restricted under certain circumstances. Gambaryan failed to provide evidence of immunity from prosecution under Nigerian law, leading to the dismissal of his suit.
