Court Adjourns Judgment on ADC Leadership Challenge

The Federal High Court in Abuja has postponed its judgment on a suit filed by Leke Abejid, which seeks to restrain Ralph Nwosu and Rauf Aregbesola from claiming leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The judgment was initially set for April 13, 2026, but was adjourned by Justice Musa Suleiman Liman to April 14, 2026, due to the judge's official engagement.

The case, which was filed on February 15, 2026, challenges the legitimacy of the ADC leadership transfer to Nwosu and Aregbesola, claiming it was illegal and void. Abejid's counsel, Ibrahim Idri SAN, argues for a perpetual injunction to prevent the defendants from presenting themselves as party leaders and seeks to nullify the leadership transfer.

The defendants, represented by various lawyers, contend that the suit lacks legal standing and is a matter of internal party affairs, urging the court to dismiss it.
