Court Slams ₦100 Million Fine on IGP, NPF, PSC Over Osun LGs Poll Interference

The Federal High Court in Osogbo imposed a ₦100 million fine on the IGP, NPF, and PSC for unlawfully attempting to stop the February 22, 2025, local government elections in Osun State. The court found the actions of the police to be illegal and partisan, leading to the arrest of OSSIEC staff.

The lawsuit sought to protect fundamental rights and liberties. The claimant argued that the police's conduct was an affront to the judiciary.
