Kano Court Delays Ganduje Corruption Trial to 2026 Amid Pending Motions

The Kano State High Court has once again postponed the trial of former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and seven others, including his wife Hafsat Umar, on corruption charges worth billions of naira. The defense team requested more time to respond to pending motions, leading to the trial being moved to February 3, 2026.

Despite some defense lawyers expressing readiness to proceed, the judge granted the prosecution's request for a postponement. The case involves allegations of bribery, conspiracy, and misappropriation of public funds against prominent individuals and companies.
