COWLSO Donates N60 Million to Lagos Orphanages

The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) has supported 11 orphanages across Lagos with N60 million worth of household welfare items and financial assistance. The initiative, presented by Dr.

Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the First Lady's Office in Alausa, Ikeja, marks the sixth edition of the state’s outreach to orphanages. The N60 million intervention includes material supplies and financial support, addressing educational and medical needs for children in beneficiary homes.

Dr. Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of tailored donations to improve living conditions and operational efficiency in orphanages.

The selection of the 11 beneficiary homes followed a rigorous and transparent process involving a 33-member committee representing five divisions in Lagos. The program, which has expanded significantly since its launch in 2020, aims to strengthen the state's social protection system and improve outcomes for vulnerable populations, with a pledge from Mr.

Sanwo-Olu to continue investing in impactful initiatives.
