COWLSO Invests ₦234M in Lagos Schools for Inclusive Education

The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) has made a significant investment of ₦234 million in 48 schools across Lagos State, focusing on enhancing inclusive education. This initiative was announced by First Lady Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu during a school intervention event on a Thursday.

The investment is part of a broader commitment to support children with special needs and strengthen the education sector from 2022 to 2026. The funding will be implemented in three phases: the first phase impacted 12 schools with ₦49.8 million, the second phase will support 12 schools with ₦60 million, and the third phase will assist 24 schools with ₦124.457 million.

The beneficiaries will come from six educational districts, including 12 primary and 12 secondary inclusive schools. Interventions include classroom renovations, provision of potable water, and essential learning materials tailored for children with special needs.

Anik Adekany, the coordinator of COWLSO, emphasized the importance of maintaining these facilities to ensure ongoing benefits for students.
