ADC Faction Petitions US Over Leadership Crisis

A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Nafiu Bala Gomb, has formally petitioned the United States regarding alleged attempts by certain members to hijack the party and undermine its internal democratic processes. The complaint, submitted to the U.S.

Embassy in Abuja, accuses individuals of attempting to control the party unlawfully. The faction claims that the real leadership of the ADC was disrupted following the resignation of former national chairman Ralph Okei Nwosu, which left the deputy national chairman, Nafiu Bala, as the sole leader.

The petition emphasizes the need for adherence to the party's constitution and proper procedures, arguing that the actions taken by the opposing faction threaten democratic practices in Nigeria. Gomb has requested that the U.S. consider imposing sanctions, including visa restrictions, on those involved in the alleged unconstitutional takeover.
