ADC State Chairmen Appoint New Interim Leadership

On Tuesday, the state chairmen of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) convened in Abuja and appointed a new interim leadership to address concerns of a leadership vacuum within the party. Don Norman Obinna, the chairman of the Abia State chapter, was appointed as the interim national chairman.

The newly formed interim national working committee (NWC) includes Muhammad Khala Jidda as deputy chairman, Odion Kennedi as secretary, and other key positions filled by Kabiru Hussaini, Dr. Charl Idowu, Johnni Derek, and Stella Chukwuma.

Obinna emphasized that the interim team would liaise with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prepare for the party's national convention and ensure the ADC does not become extinct. He also stated that the national executive committee (NEC) was not aware of a purported congress scheduled for that day and dissociated the chairmen from any external influences, denying claims of sponsorship by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
