Ogun ADC Elects New Executives Amid Leadership Crisis

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State has successfully elected new executives despite ongoing leadership challenges at the national level. The state congress, supervised by Hon.

Olatunji Shoyinka, the chairman of the congress committee, and Hon. Dimeji Fabiyi, the national financial secretary, resulted in the election of Emmanuel Famojuro as the new state chairman.

Famojuro emphasized the importance of unity among party members and pledged to enhance grassroots mobilization, particularly focusing on the roles of youth and women within the party. The previous leadership, led by Femi Soluad, was criticized for failing to effectively grow the party.

The congress was described by some as a "kangaroo" election, but the new leadership expressed optimism for the ADC's future success in Ogun State. The new executives, including Babatunde Adedeji as deputy state chairman and Agbebiyi Olusoji as state secretary, were sworn in following the congress held on April 9.
