PDP Candidate Accuses Cross River Assembly of Bribery

He stated that this situation weakens constitutional principles of checks and balances, reducing the Assembly's effectiveness.

Ibor claimed that executive bills sent to the legislature often come with financial inducements, suggesting that lawmakers prioritize personal interests over the welfare of the people. He lamented the absence of a vibrant opposition voice in the Assembly, which he believes encourages complacency and weakens legislative scrutiny.

Ibor dismissed suggestions that he has become isolated or intimidated, asserting that he will continue to fight for good governance and ensure that the Assembly does not become a lone voice. He emphasized the need for political resistance against distractions and affirmed his commitment to maintaining support from civil society groups.
