Cross River Government Denies New COVID-19 Cases

The Cross River Government has officially dismissed claims of ten new COVID-19 cases in the state, describing the report as misleading and inaccurate. Dr. Henri Ayuk, the Commissioner for Health, reaffirmed that as of April 23, 2026, there are no new confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 in Cross River.

The confusion arose from reports of individuals showing symptoms, but Ayuk clarified that these individuals do not meet the criteria for suspected cases and are currently under home isolation and daily health monitoring. The government emphasized that contact tracing remains a standard public health response to contain potential spread.
