Ayade Disappointed Over Senate Race Withdrawal Directive

Ben Ayade, the former governor of Cross River State, has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction regarding a directive that instructs him to withdraw from the Senate race for Cross River North. Ayade, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), articulated his feelings of pain and disappointment, particularly highlighting a three-year period without any political appointments during President Bola Tinubu's administration.

Despite his contributions to the APC and his active role in the party during the 2023 general elections, Ayade feels politically sidelined. He acknowledged the respect he has for the authority of President Tinubu but lamented the directive concerning his Senate ambition.

Ayade also referred to ongoing internal negotiations within the APC as the party prepares for the 2027 elections, indicating that he remains committed to the party despite the current developments.
