CRPP Demands Transparency on Edo Flyover Projects

The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) has invoked the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act to request comprehensive details about the ongoing flyover projects in Edo State, specifically in Benin City. This demand was articulated in a communiqué issued at the end of the coalition's second general meeting held on May 2, 2026.

The communiqué, signed by CRPP National Chairman Samson Isibor, requests information on the contract sums, complete timelines, and the roles of financial institutions, particularly First Bank, involved in the execution of the projects. The coalition emphasized that the people of Edo State deserve to know the full details regarding the funding of these public resources, including when the contracts were advertised and which companies participated in the bidding process.

The CRPP expressed concerns over the lack of transparency and accountability in the execution process and plans to petition the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding these projects. They also criticized the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo for falling short of expectations while acknowledging the resilience of Edo State residents amid economic hardships.
