CRPP Demands Transparency in Edo Flyover Projects

The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) has expressed significant transparency concerns over the ongoing flyover bridge projects in Edo State, specifically in Benin City. In a communiqué issued at the end of their 2nd general meeting on May 2, 2026, the CRPP, led by National Chairman Dr.

Samson Isibor, invoked the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act to demand comprehensive disclosure regarding the costs, timelines, bidding processes, and financial arrangements related to these projects. The coalition specifically requested details about the contract sum for the Ramat Park flyover project, its completion timeline, and the role of financial institutions, particularly First Bank.

They emphasized that the people of Edo State deserve to know the full details of how public resources are being utilized. Additionally, the CRPP noted that the projects have become a major subject of public discourse and criticized the administration of Governor Mondai Okpebholo for not meeting public expectations despite efforts made.
